The Austin Ice Bats are looking for caring, hockey-loving families to open their homes to our players for the upcoming season. As a billet family, you play a vital role in our team’s success—offering a safe, welcoming environment that allows our players to focus on their goals both on and off the ice.
What It Means to Be a Billet Family
Billeting means opening your home to an Ice Bats player for the duration of the season. Players range from 16 to 21 years old and often travel from across the country to play here in Austin. For many, billet families become a second home and a lifelong connection.
Each player must have:
-
A private bedroom
-
Access to a bathroom
-
Access to meals
In return for your hospitality and support, billet families receive:
-
A monthly stipend to help cover living expenses
-
Season tickets to all home games
-
The opportunity to make a lasting impact on a young athlete’s life
Getting Started
Once you express interest, our staff will schedule:
- A call with you to review full billet expectations, responsibilities, and answer any questions.
- A follow-up call with you and a potential player to ensure the best possible match for both sides.
If you’ve ever wanted to be part of something bigger—and help shape the next generation of athletes—becoming a billet family is one of the most rewarding ways to do it.
