Bat Colony Classroom Program

The Austin Ice Bats are proud to launch the Bat Colony Classroom Program, a new community project starting this season. As the team continues to grow, we’re expanding our reach beyond the rink and into schools across the Austin area.

This program allows Ice Bats players to be positive role models for students. During classroom visits, players share stories about teamwork, discipline, and focus. They show how lessons learned in hockey apply to everyday life. Students discover that effort and determination can help them reach their goals both in school and beyond.

Bat Colony Classroom Programs's first school to participate: Rutledge Elementary SchoolThroughout the year, players will visit classrooms for fun, hands-on sessions. Each visit includes team-building activities, leadership lessons, and encouraging conversations. These experiences promote confidence and teamwork. In every classroom, players remind students to believe in themselves and to support one another.

Every student who takes part in the Bat Colony Classroom Program will receive a complimentary ticket to an Austin Ice Bats home game. This reward gives students and their families a chance to experience live hockey together. They’ll get to cheer for the same players who visited their school, creating a lasting and meaningful connection.

This is the first year of the Austin Ice Bats Classroom Program, and we hope it becomes a long-standing Austin tradition. By visiting schools, players help inspire teamwork, pride, and consistency. They show that success comes from hard work and a positive attitude—on and off the ice.

If your school or organization would like to host a classroom visit, please fill out the form below. A member of our team will reach out with more details.

Together, we can build a stronger community—one classroom at a time—while giving students an unforgettable experience cheering for the Austin Ice Bats.
